What We Believe
These articles reflect the official Statement of Faith of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, held in common across every RCCG parish worldwide, including here at Solution Assembly Newcastle.
What We Hold to Be True
The Scriptures
The entire Bible, Old and New Testament, was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the final authority for everything we believe and teach.
God
There is one God, the eternal Creator of everything seen and unseen: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, three persons, one God.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God, God revealed in the flesh, who took away our sins and is the Saviour of the world.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, equal in power and glory with the Father and the Son, at work in regeneration and sanctification.
How We Are Changed
Repentance
A godly sorrow for sin, and a decision to turn from it.
New Birth
By God’s grace, we are cleansed of our sins and made able to stand before Him.
Holiness
The ongoing cleansing of a believer’s life through faith in the blood of Christ, continuing after new birth.
Water Baptism
Believers are baptised by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as an outward sign of a heart already turned to Christ.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Born-again believers are invited to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit, received with the accompanying sign of speaking in tongues.
How We Live
Prayer
We pray in the name of Jesus, and are called to pray without ceasing.
Honouring Authority
We obey the law of the land and honour our parents, elders and those God has placed in leadership over us.
Marriage
Marriage is honourable, instituted by God as one husband and one wife, for life.
Integrity in Word and Debt
We avoid swearing, cursing and idle talk, and we aim to owe no one anything, living within our means.
Divine Healing
We believe in healing through prayer, the laying on of hands and faith in God, not as a replacement for wise care for the body, but alongside it.
Church Life
Holy Communion
Instituted by Jesus himself, believers gather regularly to share the bread and the cup in remembrance of Him.
The Church
Everyone born again is part of the Church of God, sent to carry the Gospel to their generation.
Dedication of Children
Parents bring their children before the church for dedication, entrusting them to God from their earliest days.
The Lord’s Day
Sunday is set apart as a special day of worship and rest for believers.
What Is to Come
The Return of Christ
Jesus will return, visibly and physically, first to gather His Church, and again to judge the world.
Resurrection and Judgement
The dead will be raised, and all will stand before God: believers to eternal life with Christ, and a final judgement for all.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
God will make all things new, a home for holiness for ever.

Come and see for yourself.
The best way to understand what we believe is to worship alongside us.
